ACUTA-MiCTA Technology Research Grant

MiCTA and ACUTA have awarded two Higher Education grants to Texas A&M University and Morgan State University at the ACUTA 45th Annual Conference with Mark Burger and Brad Bouwkamp from MiCTA as well as with both grant recipients, Dr. Adebisi Oladipupo from Morgan State University and Jason McConnell from Texas A&M University. For more information about the grants, click on the image.

2014 Year in Review



MiCTA has recently funded North Valley Military Institute in Granada Hills, California. The Grant will help fund the initial purchase of tablet computers and wireless Internet access for the school's 1-to-1 tablet computing program.

The grant will allow NVMI to access the Internet 24 hours a day using Sprint's 3G/4G network. Students will access web-based educational resources that support the school's college preparatory curriculum, and computer-based assessment tools to help quantify the individual student's educational progress. NVMI's 1-to-1 learning program is designed to allow students to become proficient at keyboarding, navigating computer-based assessment tools, and using online learning tools for mathematics, science, writing, reading, history/Social Studies and languages other than English. 

MiCTA Donates Wireless Hotspots, Kindle Tablets to Calumet School District 132

MiCTA has donated 30 Kindle tablets to Calumet School District 132 to support the district's early learning curriculum. The donation follows a $25,000 grant awarded by MiCTA for the purchase of 28 Sprint 3G/4G wireless hotspots to allow students to connect to the Internet from home. MiCTA Consultant, Bill Lund, recently visited MiCTA recent recipient of the MiCTA Impact Grant, Calumet Public Schools, to inform and implement the new project for E-Textbooks using Amazon Kindle Fire HD's. Click on the picture above to view photos from Bill's visit.
